Are you asking about basic fabric zoning for the 3par or how to add an accessible host to the array?

Yes, I am looking for zoneing. In 3 PAR we have persistant ports. As per my knowledge will it be simple zoning like

1) check the wwpn of host and node
2) alicreate
3) zone create etc

then add the host in to stoarge and create host group etc.

Please let me know someting differnet I have to perform.

Thanks ,
Waugh

Should work but remember to create the host on the 3PAR as well :)

check wwn of host hbas
alicreate
zonecreate
cfgadd
cfgsave
cfgenable

don't forget to zone both ports of node cluster with the same hba:
0:1:2 and 0:1:2
not 0:1:1 and 0:1:2

Don't forget port persistent.

How many nodes do you have, and how many host ports are there per host?

Don't under estimate the importance of a good zoning plan, and stick to it. Check out the host connectivity guides for 3PAR on the OS you're attaching. They explain it well.

I'n my environment we use hosts with 2 HBA ports, and storage with 4 nodes. So we zone each host port to a "node pair" which determines which storage nodes share back end disks and cover each other for port persistence.

ZoneA would contain:
Host port A
Node 0, port 1
Node 1, port 1 (has to be same port as above for port persistence)

ZoneB would contain:
Host port B
Node 2, port 1
Node 3, port 1 (has to be same port as above for port persistence)
