Hi All

Both SPOCK and the 3Par Upgrade Guide state that the patches KB2754704 and KB2821052 should be installed on all Windows Server 2008 R2 hosts. When checking on the MS site the details for the patches say they should only be applied to servers experiencing particular issues only.

Does anyone know why HP require the patches? What's your experience, do you install them?

Thanks

The KB’s are required, they resolve some path failover issues observed / exposed during HP's qualification process.

I'm not sure, with Port Failover enable, they are still required...

Prior to Port Failover they were required to upgrade safely 3PAR arrays.

Thanks

On an RDS server there are around six hotfixes which MS make the same statement about, which I include in our standard build guide because when I don't install them, that server is almost certain to experience unplanned downtime early on a Saturday morning.

The patches you've referred to are over a year old. They've had plenty of time to be tested in the field, I'd say they should be fine.
