Hi All, Can anybody please explain me what is Loss Sync Detection and Persistence Catching in HP 3Par. Please tell me how exactly it works/takes place. (I found this terms in HP 3Par 3.1.3 Best Practices guide) Thanks in advance. Regards, KK |

Have a look at the Concepts guide. http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/publ ... cale=en_US Loss Sync Detection could refer to either remote copy or more likely persistent ports which virtualizes the front end physical host ports. This allows stand in virtual ports to be created automatically on the surviving nodes physical ports in the event of node failure, reboot of laser loss. Cache persistence maintains write back cache performance and crucially availability through node failures & reboots but is only applicable to 4 node or above configurations. Both processes are fully automatic and so require no user configuration or intervention. |
