Hi

I have problem with upgrade one of my custommer's 3par VSP. So i want to deploy new VSP.
Are there some problems/caveats with that ?

My idea :

VSP to maintenance mode, note all the infos from it.
Disconnect VM network adapters.
Deploy new VSP, set IP.

And then - run Storeserv Seup Wizard or set all info and connect to StoreServ ?.

Is it correct ?

Is the process somewhere documented ? (I didn't found it).

Thanks

Usually i just stop & delete VM from disk and then redeploy it.

Hi

To killer-bee21

Thanks. I will be doing it in one week. To be sure.
You deployed clean VSP.
Then - did you run setup wizard (SpSetupWizard.htm) to generate Service Process ID
and then add storeserv (that's my idea how to do it) or simply set ip, filled in customers info and add storeserv ?

To all
In setup wizard is checkbox Replacing a previous Service Processor (SP)
Does anyone know usage of it ? In my opinion it simply copies information from old VSP ?

Thanks

F.

Hi
I will answer to myself ...
Maybe it can help someone.

The bad way is to do it per GUI - it will write something like There is no uninitialized StoreServ on network.

The right way is to do it from VSP console. User root, no password and answer all questions.
Warning - one question about errors is misleding (for me at least :-) ) and default answer is wrong.

After VSP MOB, add StoreServ.

F.

After MOB and before rebooting, we add a weekly reboot task in crontab.
