So my FC space is 90% full and despite doing a lot of zeroing out on our Windows hosts and the ESXi cluster they run on we are still not getting much reclaimed. We were running with almost no space but the addition of 24 4TB NL drives has fixed that. So to reclaim the space I need to use tunevv correct? So if I tune that vv to a NL CPG, then back to the FC CPG it was originally I should get the zeroes out space back correct?

If the volumes truly was zeroed out and zero detect is enabled than you should not have to tun the vv. If you tune the vv I would not expect to see any more space freed. What you could do a compactcpg which should return any unused space int he CPG back.

Assuming that you can't release the reserved space from the volume due to fragmentation then if you tune the VV elsewhere this should release the VV's space to the CPG. A compact CPG should then release the space to the system and If you choose to tune it back it should come back thinned.

Thanks, I've already compacted it and zero detection is on. I think I just have to move volumes over to the NL storage.

Thanks.
