HI, I have a Question about Cage Expand. We are planning to expand our HP 3par 7200 2*6710 and 1*6720 now we want add one NEW Cage (6710) online without any interrupt. on this DOC did not find any step by step useful guide to add cage online Cabling "Guide C: Two Node System with M6710/M6720 Enclosures" Would you help me ? |

Hello, As you certainly noticed it, you got two data loop. One run on bottom IO modules of cages and the second one on top IO modules. Usually i power the new cages, cut down one loop, cable this loop according to the new design, check that every cage is seen correctly on loop A or B through showcage, then proceed with the second loop. At the beginning and at the end i compare the "checkhealth -detail" returns. Sometimes loop A or B on the nodes cage are offline but any other is online. Then i restart the system manager using some "setsysmgr restart". You will loose connection for a few seconds. As you totally shut one loop, prefer to do this during low activity hours. |
