Post subject: | Setting up Raid10 |
Hi guys, i am wondering how to set up a raid10 on a 3par 8450. In my CPGs i only have the Option between raid1, raid5 and raid6. Even i i want to create a new cpg, it offers the same raid Levels. I know that raid 10 is a raid 1+0 but how do i build that in the 3par? Thanks Daniel |

The RAID1 type is effectively RAID10. The 3PAR will create RAID10 logical disks in the background. As for RAID5 is RAID50 and RAID6 is RAID60. |

Wait a moment. What's "RAID 50" and "RAID 60"?? RAID10 is a mixture of RAID 0 and RAID 1, Mirroring and Striping, abbreviated as "RAID 10". But RAID5 is - just RAID5? Am I missing something?? |

RAID50 is data striped across RAID5 raid sets and RAID60 is data striped across RAID6 raid sets. If you click the Advanced Options in SSMC when creating a CPG or look at the settings of a CPG using cli command showcpg -sdg you will see how each raid set will be configured. For example RAID 5 3 data + 1 Parity. |
