Post subject: | Change rcip peer IP address? |
Hi all, New to the board! In my current job, I inherited two 3PAR arrays doing rcopy vi rcip. I know enough to manage the array, support, and create new vdisks, however a bit unclear on rcopy. I have googled, but there is little out there. Recently I had to change subnets which caused a change to IP addresses on the remote (target?)array. showrctransport shows: N:S:P Peer_Address Address State Type 2:6:1 192.168.3.221 192.168.24.188 missing rcip 3:6:1 192.168.3.222 192.168.24.245 missing rcip I changed 192.168.3.221 to 192.168.52.221 and 192.168.3.222 to 192.168.52.222 on the remote array. On the source array has do I change the peer address? Yes, I can ping the remote array interface from the source via the ping command: controlport rcip ping 192.168.52.221 2:6:1 Thanks for any guidance! -John |

Hi John. I recently had to do this myself and it was a nightmare to figure out but eventually with HP I got it squared away. Here are my notes that may help. I had to dismiss the link and readmit it. Hope this helps. ///////////////////////////////// Changing the IP address of a remote copy link 1 – Remove the existing Link The remote target is the 3PAR on the other side. So running the command from the "A" 3PAR the remote target would be "B". X:X:X is the port of the NIC used for the interface on the current 3PAR. Dismissrcopy <remote_target> X:X:X:<Current_IP> 2 – Readmit the link with the new IP address Admitrcopylink <remote_target> X:X:X:<New_IP> ///////////////////////////////// |
