I have a couple 3pars in the office I have been working on, my question is this:

I want to create a service account, I can create them no problem when I SSH to the StorServ, and they log in just find. However, when connected to the Service Processor of course these accounts do not work. I also receive a permission denied response when creating from the SP logged in as spvar. My question is really, do we need to SSH to the StoreServ or am I missing something that allows us to connect to the SP and use these log ins?

Same issue on a 7200 as a T800 so I know it's not the software version, but I can provide if needed.

There are no shared users between the SP and the 3PAR.

You can't run SSH from the 3PAR to the SP (no ssh client available).

I understand the need for service accounts on the 3PAR but what is the objective with a service account on the SP?

I was trying to make it easy to have just one point of contact with the system. Thanks for clearing this up and saving me wasted research time.
