Hi everyone,

my newly configured 7400 is not detecting in fabric(Brocade 8/24 SANSwitch) but it works if i connect it directly to the host. And the same fabric has connected to another F400 and that is getiing coneected succesfully.

here some details which may help to findout the root cause,
3par atttched fabric ports are showing as a L-port, i think that should show as F-port.
In 3PAR console port summary, device type is showing as a "Free" as it should detectet as a host.
i dont have external HBA so iam using onboard ports.
i have attatched the 3PAR console status screenshot.

Thanks for any help..

Thanks,
Kalyan

You need to right click on the target FC ports, select Configure and set the Connection Type to Point for fabric connectivity. Connection type Loop is the default and is used for direct connect from the host.

controlport config host -ct point -f n:s:p
controlport rst -f n:s:p

For any supposed host port...
