Hi all
I a new to the 3par and we are just in the process of commissioning our new remote copy installation. This is in conjunction with VMware and the HP RMV plugin to Vcenter.
I wanted to share with you an error, that has taken the might of HP support 3 days to resolve, including one of the developers dialed into our system. Just in case you have the misfortune to bump into it.
The error message that you receive is
Failed to retrieve Remote Copy Groups: Unable to comprise remote copy data group data. Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
A very helpful message. The fix takes all of 30 seconds.
You just recan the HBA on each of the esx hosts.
VMware version 5.1
3par OS 3.1.2
RMV version 2.5
Hope this helps someone out and you don't spend 3 days of your life that you will never get back
