Here's a fix for an issue that was bugging me, so I thought maybe someone else will find it useful:
In the Inform Console, the default Host port persona is set to '1 - Generic'.
In VMware this presents an SES LUN 254 which shows up as dead.
If you change the Host persona in the Inform Console for all VMware hosts to '6 - Generic-legacy', the Dead LUN 254 goes away.

Thanks for sharing!
That SES device is used by "Host Explorer", and agent that can be installed on a host to report it's information like OS, patch level, HBA models, etc. 3PAR does not have host explorer agents for all supported operating systems, for example AIX, or a Windows runing on a IA64 chipset.
Host personas are an important setting for that and other reasons, but luckily, its a setting that can be changed hot and on the fly, in my experience.
