This allows stand in virtual ports to be created automatically on the surviving nodes physical ports in the event of node failure, reboot of laser loss. Cache persistence maintains write back cache performance and crucially availability through node failures & reboots but is only applicable to 4 node or above configurations.
Both processes are fully automatic and so require no user configuration or intervention.
